The Brain Wanders

I am bored, yet unable to take on anything interesting at the moment, so you get only random thoughts to read ...

The damned statistics homework is done. All of it. I am not going to revise anything else. I am going to study for the final, take it, and then promptly forget everything I learned in a fit of supreme pettishness. And I will pass. Based on some calculations, I will have to do less than 50% on the final to do any real damage. I doubt that will happen.

I have heard nothing yet from the guy who spoke about hiring me. I'm not really surprised as this sort of planning always takes longer than expected, and it was not on his calendar for the week (which included listening to a dissertation defense, kind of cool). I will call him Monday because I have sneakily played the helpful person and gotten myself stationed in a remote office that morning.

And Keilyn's pampered test:

(1) your own cell phone
() a television in your bedroom
() an iPod

() a surround sound system in bedroom
() DVD player in bedroom
(1) at least a hundred DVDs
(2) a childfree bathroom (being a childfee person this is not difficult)

() a pool
() a guest house
() a game room
() a queen-size bed or larger
() a stocked bar (used to, does that count?)
(1) a working dishwasher
(1) an icemaker
(1) a working washer and dryer
(1) more than 20 pairs of shoes (
(1) at least ten things from a designer store
(1) expensive sunglasses (bought on Overstock.com?)
(1) framed original art
(1) Egyptian cotton sheets or towels
() a multi-speed bike (this involves physical activity right? wrong?)
() a gym membership (used to, waste of money on my lazy butt)
() large exercise equipment at home
() your own set of golf clubs (snort)
() a pool table
() a tennis court
(1) local access to a lake, large pond, or the sea

(1) expensive jewelry

(1) at least $100 cash in your possession right now
(1) more than two credit cards bearing your name
(1) a stock portfolio (small, but there)
(1) a passport (with more than one set of exit/entry stamps)
() a horse
() a trust fund (either for you or created by you)
() private medical insurance
(1) a college degree, and no outstanding student loans

Do you:
(1) shop for non-needed items for yourself (like clothes, jewelry, electronics) at least once a week
(1) do your regular grocery shopping at high-end or specialty stores? (My Organic Market, highly recommended)

() stay at home with little financial sacrifice
() pay someone else to cook your meals (much eating out)
() pay someone else to watch your children or walk your dogs
() regularly pay someone else to drive you, like taxis
() expect a gift after you fight with your partner

Are you:
() an only child
() married/partnered to a wealthy person
() baffled/surprised when you don't get your way

Have you:
() been on a cruise
(1) traveled out of the country
(1) met a celebrity
() been to the Caribbean
(1) been to Europe

() take riding or swimming lessons as a child
() attend private school
() have a Sweet 16 birthday party thrown for you (turning 16 was so not sweet)

42. Modestly decadent, although like so many quizzes there's enough that really doesn't apply, and much that is sort of not special because being an OINK (one income, no kids), you just get to indulge more.
