Let's Do The Time Warp ... Not

The Powers That Be, know as the building management, have decided the frumpy 60's structure in which my company's office is located needs a makeover.

It has had some updates over the years. It wasn't hideous.

It is now.

For a frumpy 60's building, they have chosen a 60's color scheme. Remember Harvest Gold and Avacado Green?

They have removed the soothing pale greys and blues in the hallways and replaced them with Harvest Gold wallpaper of the grass texture variety and a carpet of green with a rectangular pattern with gold highlights. The subdued lighting has been replaced with something that would do an interrogation room proud.

The bathrooms are worse. They have chosen an even more intense shade of gold for the stalls and painted the walls the same color. And they've left the old fixtures, floors and counters in place. Huh? This took six weeks to accomplish. Bad taste cannot be rushed.

The atrium now has large gold and white harlequin patterned wall paper that goes up 12 floors. The flooring is still torn up so I have no idea what sort of monstrosity they are putting there.

Someone find out who the decorator was and shoot him/her. And find out who approved the contract and shoot him/her twice.
