terrshee's Diaryland Diary

Current Events

The whole Terri Schaivo thing has got me into a nasty mood. I can't escape it because the various news stations in the office are pounding it. I suppose it is more relevant than coverage of the Michael Jackson trial, but it still gets tiresome. Anyway, it boils down to is:

How dare Congress get involved? I know Democrats have been as much PR whores in letting the special law pass, but the Republicans are burning me up. What about states rights? What about the sanctity of marriage? What if Terri S. were African-American and 60 years old? Would they actually care then? And how can any group that says they value life be so emeshed in the culture of violence associated with being pro-gun?

Good on the Federal judge who upheld the law and won't order the feeding tube reinserted.

If you don't want someone else making life and death decisions for you, you'd better make them for yourself and get it in writing.
