Strange Saturday

A strange day so far.

I woke up at 4:30 when all the battery backup alarms went off. The power is still out.

So I went off to run some errands for my party tomorrow. How do you plan food for a group of people anymore? Some have health and/or weight issues, some are picky eaters. I've opted to go heavy on the veggie snacks and low- or non-fat versions of the dairy products. I was going to bake some pies for dessert, but the local farm market had some fine looking ones, so I saved myself the trouble.

The bad news is that most of my family won't be here tomorrow after all. Mom is tired after restarting radiation therpy and my sister just can't manage it. Oh well. More turkey chili for the rest. ;-)

I'm off to see the Wallace and Grommit movie since I can't do much here. I may end up doing my homework by candlelight later. How rustic.
