I'm amazed that they think they can just put you at the end of the queue again. I wonder if you would get better service if you had Steve or a male work colleague make the call. It's unfortunate but true that sometimes when it comes to repair stuff, men still get better service. Good luck. I hope you can get the A/C fixed soon.

Are you stuck with Sears because of a service contract? You could A) email their customer care dept. and complain B) tell them you're calling another repair firm to do the work, then sending them the bill, or C) get a lawyer to call and threaten them with a suit for not fulfilling the terms of their service agreement with you. (Bet you paid for it, too!) I get the best results with email, instead of phone calls--they are much more careful what they promise when they know there will be a written record.

As I recall, Sears uses contractors for all their service techs. I would defnitely escalate, and start looking for a new HVAC contractor as soon as your agreement is up, if not sooner.

What utter nonsense! You don't go to the end of the queue if they miss the appointment! Whenever we've had to have contractor service and they miss the appointment, it is scheduled for the next day--even the times (yes, multiple) we've had to have our A/C repaired.
