Still No Phone

Grump, grump, grump. In theory the telephone was to be reconnected yesterday. In practice, the Verizon technician apparently arrived, decided he/she could not reconnect using the old telephone number and left without informing me of this, and canceled my order for service.

After serveral calls via cell to customer service and many minutes on hold, they finally determined that in spite of having only moved 1/4 mile down the road in the same town, I can't have the same number. I do not know why this makes me so angry, but it does. And because of the inauguration this week (big demands for temporary communications services), I have to wait until next Monday.

If it wasn't so beastly cold out I could cope, but feeling frozen all the time makes me crankier than normal. Ah well, accept the things you cannot change, and all that.
