The Treasury Duck

The nesting duck at Treasury has now become an utterly ridiculous item. The spokesman for the Secretary is issuing bulletins about increased security for the poor creature, and jokes are circulating about the involvement of various government officials in ensuring the safe hatching of the eggs. Tourists visit the cherry blossoms and then the duck. There has been a news camera person filming the duck every time I enter or leave the Treasury building. There is talk of naming it after the reporter who broke the story.

I have pictures in my head about this weekend's hordes of protesters tippy-toeing past the duck's enclosure and sssh-ing any one who tries to chant a slogan.

This was fun to start with, but it has gotten way past silly.
