Now I'm Really Ticked
Now I'm really ticked. I got the adjusted good faith estimate. It was exactly the same as the earlier one except instead of estimating 30 days of interest she estimated based on 15 days and she left off the escrow for the taxes, which she had told me I was going to have to pay anyway.
I have called and left a voice mail to the effect that this is not acceptable and that I will seek out another lender. It may well prove that the closing costs of a refi were accurately represented in the estimate I got this week, but I cannot help but distrust being told two such radically different stories from the same company that (I assume) uses the same software as a basis for their estimates.
Do not deal with Countrywide Home Loans.
Time to write a deeply grieved letter to the Powers-that-Be at Countrywide and let them know how badly they have failed me. Like they will care. But it will make me feel better.
