terrshee's Diaryland Diary

Cat Fu. Again. Rats.

The cats are driving me insane. Again. They've started a new round of neediness (towards me) and hostility (towards each other). Why can't they just decide who's alpha cat and be done with this? It wouldn't bother me so much if there was something effective I could do. But spraying fake kitty pheremones about just doesn't cut it, nor do stern lectures about the fact that I need my sleep or rational observations that they have much in common and should be friends.

I survived the usual fall ordeal of covering at least part of the G7 finance minister and central banker meetings. I do nothing like what everyone else does. My niche has turned out to be grabbing the communique and dictating a batch of headlines then attending the Japanese press briefing. I hate it, and I never feel certain I've done a good job. I could complain it was a long day for me. But it really was scarely longer than anyone else's, and I did less. Plus they all do extra duty for a week. So I lack any real entitlement to feelings of virtue or resentment.

The weekend shall be dominated by algebra homework and a take home test. Oh joy. But at least I shall be home and my time is my own, at least for a bit.

Shall I confess that the one thing I look forward to is Serenity next weekend? It is about the only movie I've anticipated with real excitement all year. At last.
